My next series of paintings will tell the story of a working vineyard, my Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard.
Five years ago Wayne and I planted the vineyard; sticks in the ground. Now, we have a producing vineyard with harvest time late September.
You can see that the vineyard is netted, this to protect the grapes from birds. See these wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon clusters? A purple grape that makes a full body red wine.
I'll go out in the morning hours when it's cool, set up my easel, wet my brush, and have some fun splashing paint on paper.
I would like to hear about your backyard adventures.

Hi Barbara!
ReplyDeleteI imagine you sitting in your beautiful vineyard painting your backyard series! Have you begun yet? I'm excited to see the progress.
My current backyard adventure involves trying to outwit a rogue doe. She has figured out how to jump past our fence to mow down our freshly planted raspberry canes, tasty snap peas and rugosa roses. Yikes! ; )
I'm not sure I'd paint the adventure unless it's one of my Sharpie illustrations showing a caricature of a big-toothed deer with my flowers hanging out of her mouth!
Thanks for your inspiration - it's always a treat to visit your blog!
Hugs from Port Townsend, WA
